Travelling long distances in Minecraft doesn't have to be a painful experience, there are some methods that make it incredibly fast! But what is the fastest? This video will tell you!
NETHER LOGIC!
For every block that a player travels in the Nether, they travel 8 blocks in the over world.
So if you have a nether portal at 0,0 in the overworld, and another nether portal at 0, 800; then to connect them up in the nether you would have one at 0,0 and another at 0,100.. Meaning you have travelled 800 over world blocks by going 100 blocks in the nether! Hope this makes sense!

Just a top tip! Actually watch the full video before chiming in with your ‘fastest way to travel’. Almost every one I have seen so far is actually in the video! 😂
You didn't set peaceful mode = FOOD
@Onyx Aldrin joe mama
@Magic StoneJoe ??? I don't think I understand the reference, can you explain please ?
Joe.
Boat on blue ice in the nether. 500 block per second = 500m/sec So approximatively mack 1,5 (1,5 sound speed).
Does anyone remember when powered rails were actually fast
yea
Yeah
No
Nope. Its been that long.
Yes me
For anyone who wants to know: in 1.16 the fastest way to travel is soul soil with one block deep water on top of it and boots with depthstrider 3 and soul speed 3 and a dolphin on a leed following you.
nope because u have tnt ender pearl launcher using 2000+ tnt giving u about 70k blocks in overworld using nether
In snapshots it used to constantly accelerate without terminal velocity (potentially infinite speed overtime), but it was patched.
@Slimuus wiiu edition only goes up to 1.13 it was discontinued at the same time as ps3,psvita and xbox 360
SB737 did that in his hardcore series
Hello
I swear powered rails are supposed to be a lot faster! I remember them being pretty damn speedy compared to this, even ignoring the 1.8 snapshots where rails were stupidly fast
@kit u still play?
@Quick 50 hey! I play it on PS3 as well. 👍
@Quick 50 I think on the legacy console versions with limited word sizes the speed of powered rails are a lot higher.
they slowed them down after 1.13
I'd love to see a speed increase to em considering how expensive they are
The time it takes to teleport won't change regardless of the distance :)) so you can teleport to far places and maintain 25 secs travel time
That was my immediate thought. 20k blocks in 20 seconds is 1k blocks per second if you plan to go that far.
less if your a fast typer
Like the quiclsilver vs nightcrawler arguement
Imagine: Travelling 16 m/s only by running on ice and bumping with your head against ceiling
I mean - did you try it? Maybe it works
Brain injury buuuuuut.. worth it
*I'm fast and Very Concust!*
My head irl would be like steve
Mumbo! How could you? You forgot the fastest method; a pig and a carrot on a stick
On a ice
/attribute @s generic.movement set 0
@oof impressive, that's an amazing 0 blocks per second
EXCATLY IT IS SO FAST
What about tping (tp means teleport)

I remember in a way older version of minecraft we would strip mine huge tunnels and we place down a set of unpowered minecart rails that used a "booster" system. There was a glitch where if a moving minecart passed by a stationary one on an adjacent track, they would both be launched forward at maximum speed. So you just needed one long track to travel on and some smaller adjacent track sections spaced out every so often, and you would just make a small incline so the minecart on the adjacent track could reset itself after it got launched as you passed by. It was great! So much fun. You would end up traveling so fast, the chunks wouldn't be able to load quick enough. Me and my friends made "train stations" and lava-lit the entire length of track (this was also back when you could easily dupe lava) to prevent mob spawns. One of my fondest memories of playing this game. I was sad when they fixed that minecart glitch. The powered rails are just not the same. The boat on ice from the video reminds me of about how fast those carts could get.
You say horses suck, but in Bedrock (you've probably heard this already), you can make them go hyperspeed by breeding horses with the Speed effect.
Of course, you need to also factor in the portal/loading times for moving between the Nether and the Overworld
Tip: you can throw an item into the portal to make the other dimension load before you're inside
Over long distances I feel like that would become negligible
The boat on blue ice, second half is 500 overworld blocks per second (500 meters per second), which is about 1.6 times the speed of sound.
@Chenny Xiuuy sound not light
@Bazooka Bulldozers ah yes sorry i got confused with the speed of light :P
@Paul Sánchez, then is it faster than the speed of sound?
In fact i heard a minecraft block is 2 meters wide, so it would be 1km/s.
@Chenny Xiuuy you mean sound goes 0.34 km per second
Minecarts are able to work afk allowing players to do some longer journeys whilst away. Minecarts also work up long stairways like entering a mineshaft
Yeah! Fast travel up and down compared to a tunnel should be in a separate video... (Then again, it might be. I haven't looked yet)
What about boat cannon? Ya know, when you have a source block of water flowing one block ahead separated by 1 block to the side of another one, and also separated by 1 block ahead
Mumbo: a boat on blue ice is super fast Pig with saddle: hold my carrots
r/wooosh
pig with saddle is slow
This has inspired me to make an under water base. Thank you.
"Hopefully that keeps you smart people quiet" *Instantly looks at dislikes*
this comment hasn't aged well
Welp, now youtube took away your ability to do that
really really smart people*
That's what command blocks are for. *Seeing mumbo jumbo do it without command blocks*
Same!
9:43 in bedrock edition, you need use nbt editor and change to 32657 (maximum limit) and save it. Just 250 blocks per second without slow chunk loading.
For teleporting you can just keep a command block and type the teleport command and place a pressure plate above it you can get a command block using game commands
Imagine if they add craftable remote controllers in minecraft so you could activate your red stone contraptions from anywhere. Ender pearl stasis chambers would be so op it would break the game.
Agreed
I once traveled 2000 blocks in about 2 seconds I died and respawned
@anormous 690 Your computer?
G E N I U S. 🤯
i thought you'd said and then played minecraft
How did you travel ?
What an idea! why didn't I think of that?
the reason why the speed 2 didnt affect the time that much is that it increaces the time on the ground so if you didnt jump it is faster but still slower than jump sprinting with no speed but blocks above
Fun fact, your overworld speed with a blue ice boat in the nether is Mach 1.4, ie faster than the speed of sound. Supersonic boat.
The powered rail going down hill is crazy fast, cant say the same about going flat.
I do like that you can AFK traveling on rails, which is especially valuable for long distances. I also decided I don't love boat on an ice path because I'm not very good at maintaining my aim.
@Nastassja Riemermann ah. Thanks for telling me!
@Kit Callie If anything it makes it worse, because you keep running into the walls. Very wide ice paths covered in buttons work better because you run into walls less often. (The buttons prevent spawning.)
Would walls on each side help with the boat travel? It ups the price a bit, but maybe that would help.
The blue ice boat in the nether makes you go 17 metersfaster than the speed of sound in the overworld lol.
Mach levels of speed
lol lemme just break the sound barrier lol
Epic
Yeah they should ban people for speed hacking :/
Talk about whiplash

A 9mm bullet, when shot out of a 118mm barrel, travels around 360 m/s. So the boat traveling on blue ice in the Nether is moving faster than a bullet, relative to the overworld! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9%C3%9719mm_Parabellum
One of the fastest ways to travel in Minecraft is giving yourself speed 255. You run so fast the chunk loader can’t keep up.
@DefNotJef1 • 11 years ago im in bedrock and I don't know what even I sa flat-
@E riptide has a limit at 255
@gamalong no, /give. example: sharpness 999 netherite sword command: /give @a netherite_sword{display:{Lore:["\"Made by Bruno Campos (Don't change the command, or it will break)\""]},Enchantments:[{id:sharpness,lvl:999}]} 1
@DefNotJef1 • 11 years ago hm
@Alan M *cries in bedrock * (you cant make custom flats in bedrock for some reason)
The 250 blocks of blue ice with a boat is so helpful, I used it to get to my woodland mansion, it took me 2 minutes and 40 seconds to get there!
He forgot the fastest: *A bed in nether to a bed in overworld.* we literally move between dimensions.
Or a bed in the over world to a respawn anchor in the nether
There’s actually a technique involving beds that can help you move absurdly fast in the nether.
@Vignesh Rokzz That’s a very fast way, good one.
Also an infinite distance too
@J P it works in bedrock edition.
if you put buttons on blue ice with a boat [besides the first one] you will go way faster and accelerate really quickly
This one is very expensive but definitely worth it you need soul Sand and water on top of it dolphin for dolphins Grace boots with soul speed and speed 2 potion
You can use the scroll wheel in spectator mode to go lightning fast! (Not available in survival)
I think soul speed is now the best way to travel
You should do the same thing but with vertical travel.
Eh they can be useful.
Hmm yeah!
