In this Mumbo Jumbo redstone video, Mumbo makes a Minecraft redstone security computer in 1 block using Non-Euclidian Minecraft and the Immersive portals mod. This compact redstone build involves button combination locks, redstone seven segment displays, and other Minecraft security features. How small can redstone builds get with Non-Euclidian Minecraft? Using Immersive Portals to shrink redstone builds, we're about to find out. 1 block redstone builds, It's really quite simple.

*Mumbo:* creates a large, stylish redstone contraption in a single block and tries not to confuse his audience. *Also mumbo:* 356 days in a year.
@Tudu Tumru *365.25 days
Mumbo gaslit me for a moment there
The best reaction to a comment ever. Thanks for 2.4k👍😎😎
Thank you, I was hoping someone would bring it up XD I'm hoping he did that as a joke. Like where it's simple to remember cause it's close enough but still wouldn't be guessable unless you messed up you numbers of days XD
@TOGthatoneguy Gaming ik i totally was too
I genuinely love how Mumbo’s made the absolute coolest thing that makes no sense whatsoever, and all his comments are just joking about how he said there were 356 days in a year
420 LIKES HAHA FUNNY NUMBER
You now have a years worth of likes
Lol
He certainly loves to troll his audience but I'm sure he also thinks about RSloft's engagement rewards system (more comments equals more likely to be promoted).
Mumbo: *creates a computer* Also Mumbo: "it's quite simple really"
@cokoi I will be your replied replied replied reply
@ssuffer I'll be your replied replied reply
Also mumbo: a lot of pain and headscratching later
Also Mumbo:"I will put the code as the number of days in a year: 356"
@Pigzilla277 ill be your replied reply
quick fun fact about immersive portals: you can do interdimensional redstone with a dispenser and a target block, both on other sides of the portal, meaning you can recieve up to 6 seperate signals, send 6 signals, or any inbetween, or even send near instant signals across the world with the portal helpers. do with this what you will. Edit: i forgot, you can make different size portals, so a LOT of inputs and outputs.
@a random gamer sus
@Squishmellow 3 ohh i get it now
@𝚂𝚒𝚖𝚙𝚕𝚢𝙻𝚘𝚝𝚞𝚜 basically, signal enters from overworld, exits in the nether
What? I think my brain just exploded reading that😂
@Miguel Tovar Guerrero the only issue with that idea is it cant really have up or down, as that might trigger the wrong hopper if you have lines of them, you'd have to go really tall for that to work, with dispensers and target blocks, you just have 2 blocks with no real limitations as to how they have to be set up, just have the target block directly across from the dispenser.
This has to be one of the more complex builds ive seen! Well done, looks like a nightmare 😆
@lenny hey champion!
Hi mick! Didn’t expect to see you here!
Welcome back to another episode of, “I like your funny words magic man.”
Lol
@Michael Moore he did say snorlax tho?
I think i undender stand the half of the words
LMAOOOO
wtf
Oh my gosh, that display gave me _such_ nostalgia vibes, from seeing all these redstone torch computers and displays back in the day, before we even had repeaters. Geez, that makes me want to dip my toes back in to recreational redstone again.
Mumbo: "The code is going to be the number of days in a year" Me: "Oh 365, right?" Mumbo: **puts in 356** Me: **Immediately started questioning myself and looked it up**
bro I did the same rn when I am replying the to saying how many days are in a year is still there
Saaame lol 😝
Lol
365 Likes rofl

There is a mod called "Smaller Units" it's basically the Little Blocks mod for 1.16.5, but it allows you to choose the grid size.
its easier to sue immersive portals since it frames the original build either making it smaller or bigger in a 1 dimension
Hey Mumbo, if you like this sort of redstone, I think you’ll be interested in what you can do with Super Circuit Maker. It’s actual small circuits, which can be inside each other. Things are going to get _tiny_ layer by layer
Minecraft years are apparently shorter than real-life years. You learn something new from Mumbo every time!
@Artifact that means in a minecraft year there would be 5.069444 days
If a Minecraft day is shorter then a real life day then, is pretty easy to figure it out, not trying to be rude :/
@Frying Pan >.>
@Bologna Plays sameeeeeeee
this was almost the same as a project (with logic gates) for a computer science class. Super fun project and GREAT use of portals!
You’ve got to add this to an elevator so you can choose which floor to stop in. It would be great with the 6x6 farm video you just did.

whenever he says "it's really quite simple", i prepare to re-learn all of known physics
Lol
Same, I’m just like, “time to rewrite the fabric of reality and recreate the universe.”
Mumbo you Said that a year is three-hundred-fifty-six days
Imagine what you need to go through when he says “it’s quite complex”
Same lol
Hey mumbo, your build really inspired me to try a creation of my own. I was thinking about trying to create something that involved numbers on redstone lamps, but I didn’t know how to do so. I had watched this video a few months back and thought that this would show me how. Even after rewatching this video I am still struggling. I believe the biggest problem lies where the purple blocks are but i’m not sure. Could you maybe do a quick tutorial just about how to make the numbers display how you did, or link another video? This would be very helpful as I believe I am close but can’t quite get it. I don’t need to know how to do the signal strength and what not but just how to display numbers controlled by levers. Thanks.
This is crazy impressive! I'm surprised mumbo has never made a number display (or at least it looks like he hasn't)
Can we just appreciate a man who goes through all this just for our entertainment.
I know I'm late to this video, but this is easily one of the coolest things I've ever seen made in Minecraft. It's gorgeous and amazingly functional.
Mumbo: literally makes a one block computer keypad in Minecraft Also Mumbo: “Everyone knows there are 356 days in a year”
there is 365 days in a year but in a leap year, there is 366
I know right
@EpicVoidBird I hope so
@trk. thats the joke lol
I just realized he is wrong, it is 365
Now I want to see a mod that automatically changes player's gamemode when inside another player's base from survival to adventure, that would allow this to be actually useful rather than just cool looking
This video seriously brought me back to my childhood. I just remember buying a breadboard and a big ol' 7 segment display at an electronics surplus store, and poking at it all night till I knew how to get all the numbers
This has to be the coolest thing I've seen in Minecraft in a while.
I get it! You power then all then use a system to turn certain ones off to fork specific numbers. It's amazing how far this technology has come!
"356 days in a year" I really cannot tell if you are serious mumbo
Same here.
same
i agree itsacully 365 days in a year i guess thats how much disconnected from life you are go out and toch real life grass instead of playing minecraft all god damn day
@logan roufs i'm just going to assume that you are joking as well
@Rose Lalonde yep
Nothing wrong with building... but i LOVE your redstone ideas :) Glad to see more of them. I was kind of sad you finished your base in the last season, said "i get to make a big industrial district' and then the season immediatly ended
Instead of a normal door, portal mod so the “iron door” opens like a 5x5 pistol door (just 2 “blocks” tall so a 10x10). You could make a hallway after the door for another portal “correct you” since you’d be going through and changing size.
16x32x4 piston door that looks exactly like an iron door
I've been thinking of building something like a huge screen where upon entering a message like "Welcome, please type in your name _" displays, and if you're a registered user your name will be a code allowing access to some useless other things. Though this probably requires command blocks, and not "survival redstone" only.
One of the first redstone projects I ever set my mind to doing many years back was creating a 7 Segment Counter. It just counts with each button press, or you can run it on a timed clock. Now let me tell you, figuring that out as somebody who had no idea what redstone or digital logic was at the time was quite a task. I tricked my childhood self into learning the fundamentals of being an electrician to complete that project. I used a piston feed tape to control which number was displayed that was all glass except for one conductive block. When you pushed the button, the feed tape cycled once and move the conductive block to display the next highest number. When it hit nine, the next push activated the piston feed tape twice to get back to zero as I had one too many blocks to fit the feed tape. Seeing you build a seven segment has brought back many old memories there. Your's is way cooler with the portal though.
"... the number of days in a year: 356" Ah yes, I see, by making the code *incorrect* to the real number, you have made the code infinitely more secure!
@Sprogu Or he made a code that only Jewish people can discover
@Skiddo a joke flew over his head so its a whoooosh
@mr unknown 1. how is that a whoosh 2. who tf uses "wooosh" on youtube in 2022 3. r/itswooooshwith4os
@Meeko - hasn't seen grass since 2020 mate the way he said it just screams "iam joking" you'd had to be deaf not to hear that
@mr unknown no, you are just overly loving him like: "mumbo doesn't make any mistakes, everything he says is always accurate and he is perfect"
This video finally got me to complete the color-coded piston door I've thought of. Partially bc of the Redstone in this video but also because the massive color-coded door was recommended to me again.
With the securitycraft mod you can have keypads that send a redstone signal when you input the set code.
I'm still a beginner to redstone, but your videos are actually just so interesting to me because they're fun to watch but they also give me more knowledge on redstone! :D
this machine is off the charts. imagine like a deck with a long panel with different things like these
Other hermitcrafters between seasons: does a hardcore series Mumbo: redefines the laws of quantum mechanics with redstone
@Egerit Honestly, I watch Impulse and he's... not redstone illiterate, the way many others are, and is able to follow along with builds by Gnembon for example, but doesn't go very far with his redstone abilities. Mostly he just builds farms, doing some automation here or there to make it work. In fact, he feels more jack of all trades, above average decent at everything, but not necessarily *great* when it comes to redstone. Etho has been doing modded, and Tango hasn't put out anything at all since S8 ended, and while they're both pretty good at redstone, point kind of still stands: permadeath in hardcore is easier than redstone.
@火村美喜 Mumbo's good but everyone on the Hermitcraft server is insanely good at something. Talking specifically about redstone, Impulse, Tango, Etho, and a few others have a pretty similar skill level in redstone as Mumbo
@AxxL guess what: Nobody asked
The other hermits couldn't do half of what Mumbo does, so they're doing the easier option: permadeath
@AxxL ???
I love how the redstone actually would fit in a block!
It would be amazing if you made more videos for redstone nerds. I am fascinated by red stone computing
I think you could’ve done the regular number pad with observers. What do you think of that?
In my programming classes, we learned to make a functioning 7-segment display using logic gates. So I could do the display part of this… never going to because it was a pain all on its own
I love how the building is made by Netherite blocks and then the vault is diamonds.
@QuazarAscendant ...what?
You can't actually make a netherite pickaxe or armor with netherite ingot or blocks! So keeping the diamonds safe does make sense from that point of view. That being said he didn't cover the room with obsidian or a portal wall or anything really so you could just walk *around* the door to get to the valuable items but that's not the point of the video
@Anshuman Tripathy ew american
😂
And gold in the red stone part
Mumbo: "I am really quite proud of myself" Also Mumbo: "I'll put the number of days in a year, which is 356"
Here's a suggestion for the button panel: Place droppers behind each which shoots out named items that can then be filtered out to trigger the corresponding coders. True there will be more delay but it'll look better xD Edit: Like sahara!
